San Juan Capistrano Traffic Signal Box Art Project

You’re standing in front of a piece of San Juan Capistrano history!

The traffic signal box artwork, created by artist Randall Holbrook, celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of San Juan Capistrano. The designs feature imagery inspired by the orange groves that once flourished as part of the historic Stroschein Farms.

This public art project was facilitated by The Alliance for San Juan Art (TASJA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the area's history through vibrant visual storytelling. The artwork draws from photographs in the Stroscher Family Collection, representing the groves that once defined the local landscape.

Installed along La Novia Street, these pieces are part of an ongoing effort to beautify public spaces throughout San Juan Capistrano while honoring the region’s farming legacy.
